About Marina Bay Financial Centre Office Tower I

Planned as a “city in a garden,” the Marina Bay Financial Center provides an integrated live-work-play development. A two phase development, Phase I comprises two office towers and one residential tower. Phase II will add a third office tower scheduled for completion in 2012, and a second residential tower in 2013. Fully integrated pedestrian routes offer easy connections between the various distinct parts of the development as well as to Singapore’s mass transit systems. Throughout the site, the groundscape provides for lively pedestrian activity along inviting public routes and plazas.

The towers have been developed as a grouping of crystalline forms, sculpted and chamfered to reflect light and provide a sense of depth to the surfaces. The façades of the commercial towers are defined by projecting horizontal sunshades, which provide unity to the development. The residential tower’s façade transforms itself from flat panels to louvers to recessed window openings. Projecting balconies give privacy to the interior of the apartments and act as significant shading devices.
